Game Previews September 14

unday September 14. Here are today’s game previews, we are having an issue getting them up onto the OUS site today as the wifi is spotty in the hotel…

TMU (2-4) vs Ottawa (3-3)

Ottawa and TMU meet today at the Carp Fairgrounds for their first meeting of the fall. TMU split their opening two away games Saturday at Queen’s, winning the second game after a quick 5-run start in the first inning, meanwhile the Gee-Gee’s swept two games at home vs Waterloo, winning each game by 2 runs. Today series will be a chance for both teams to get settled into a nice slot after two weeks for the post-season chase.

Waterloo (1-5) vs Queen’s (4-2)

Queen’s used a 17 strike-out performance from their starter in game 1, to secure a 3-0 win Saturday, but lost the second game of the series vs the Bold. Queen’s now sits 4-2, as they welcome the Warriors who are concluding their week 2 eastern road swing. For Waterloo defensive miscues cost them a couple of close games in Ottawa Saturday.

Guelph (3-3) vs Western (6-0)

The Mustangs took both of their home games Saturday vs Brock at Poplar Hill. Today the home stand continues as they welcome in the Gryphons who played two tight games vs Laurier Saturday. The Fans in the Stands promotion was a huge success for Guelph, nice to see so many fans out to watch the OUS. Today Western will aim to stay perfect on the season and keep ahead of those teams chasing them in the West.

Brock (2-6) vs Windsor (4-4)

Windsor earned two home wins vs McMaster and they now welcome in the Badgers who will be desperate for a win or two today as they have lost their last 6 ball games. The Badgers have been every game, and that is expected to continue today in a re-match of opening weekend. With so many solid teams in the west Brock can’t afford any more losses at the moment. Windsor has managed to get to the .500 mark, and will aim to continue their push forward Sunday.

McMaster (1-5) v Laurier (4-2)

The Hawks have now won 4 straight, and looked good Saturday in Guelph. They now host McMaster with a chance to try and keep their position in second place behind Western. Laurier and McMaster just played a week ago, and the Hawks won both matches including a high scoring second game in Hamilton. McMaster is in the same place as Brock above… needing wins to keep within eyesight of the playoff spots in the West
