(Napanee, ON) The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are once again the OUS Champions, following their undefeated weekend October 19 & 20 in Napanee. The Blues were a perfect 4-0 on the weekend, which included wins against Western, Queen’s, Laurier, and then Laurier once again in the championship game of the double-knock out tournament format. Alexia Verches was named the Championship Game MVP, she was key batter in the game scoring 3 runs, and also driving in 3 runs.

Wilfrid Laurier University earned the silver medal at the tournament, battling hard all weekend especially in the Championship game in which they were facing a team who had previous beat them earlier in the day. In the Championship game Laurier held the lead until the final at bat, when Toronto plated two runs to grab the title for the second straight year. Laurier’s second place finish wrapped up a very successful 2024 season for the Hawks, as they were the team with the best overall record during the regular season at 16-4. Good things are, and will continue to happen in Waterloo.

Windsor Lancers placed at the Championship capping a successful season for the team. Windsor lost in the semi-final game vs Laurier on Sunday afternoon. Windsor has had a nice run over the last three plus seasons, and should once again be a force in 2025.
