Week 5 & 6 Recap

Week 5:

Thanksgiving/Reading Week + the National Championship Tournament meant that there were only a handful of games October 6th and 7th. Friday night, Laurier clinched a playoff spot sweeping the Waterloo Warriors, which also eliminated Waterloo from post-season contention. Laurier and Waterloo held an Awareness “Pink in the Park Night” to help raise money for cancer research. In Windsor the Lancers held off Guelph in both games to continue to strengthen their position in the division. In the East TMU split their final series of the season with the University of Toronto. The Blues with the win in the early game clinched the 1st seed for the Eastern Division.

Week 6:

The “rain/reschedule” week had a few games to catch-up for various reasons. Saturday, Western visited Brock and completed their perfect 20-0 regular season with two wins over the Badgers. The Badgers then travelled to Windsor on Sunday for senior day, and split the two games with the Lancers. Windsor with the one win, earned the 2nd seed from the west in the post-season tournament. Laurier earned the 3rd seed, Brock 4th.

In the Eastern Division, Ottawa swept Queen’s Saturday and secured the 2nd seed and a date with Laurier this coming weekend. Queen’s then on Sunday earned two wins over CU Fastpitch. Queens will be the 3rd seed from the East and play Windsor on Saturday morning. TMU is the 4th seed.
