A busy three-day weekend kicked off the 2023 OUS season. Traditionally our league opens the season with cross-over weekend, and that is once again what happened this year. Laurier, Guelph and Waterloo made the trek to Ottawa to play Ottawa and CU. Meanwhile McMaster and Brock travelled to the GTA for games against TMU and U of T. Finally Western and Windsor, travelled between Toronto and Kingston for games against Queens and York. As expected, our league is always exciting and unpredictable. After week 1 there are a few surprises, and a few as expected placements in the standings in the eastern and western conferences.
Toronto Metropolitan Bold have the early lead in the East following a 3-1 start to the season. This is a great start for the Bold, who will look to continue the fast start next Friday when they travel to Kingston to play Queens. The Gaels started the season off with two tough games vs Western, but managed to earn a split Sunday vs Windsor. The University of Ottawa rolled off 4-wins opening weekend hosting three consecutive series over the weekend. York and CU are going to seek their first win of the season next weekend when they each begin inter division play.

The Western Mustangs sit atop the Western Conference once again to start this season, the crew from London went a perfect 4-0 through Kingston, and Brampton over the weekend and is now the only undefeated team remaining in the OUS. Western will look to continue their hot start with series next weekend within the division against Laurier, Guelph and Waterloo. Guelph went 3-1 over the weekend, and has now already out-performed their W/L record from 2022. Guelph has shown they will be a tough match for anyone this season. The Western Conference will be a battle all season, teams are gearing up for a tough four week battle inter division.

Thanks to all our fans on our website, and across our social media this weekend. We had a few hiccups to get going, but we should be all systems go from this point forward!
