The University of Windsor Lancers are excited to start the season. A new coaching staff is ready to guide
the Lancer’s into a new era. A bit of history returns as Francine Stadler, a former assistant coach,
returns as the new head coach, Stadler is joined by Paula Stamatiadis (former head coach) and Michelle
Blokker (former player and assistant coach). Rounding out the coaching staff are Jessica Hitchcock,
Elaine Lalonde and Erin Lambros. That is an impressive list of strong female leaders, and those around the Windsor softball community should be very excited about where the program is going.
The team is already active this summer with pre-workouts, formal tryouts happen September 5 to 7. The Lancers will be playing a pre-season tune-up game against local team LaSalle Athletics on the 8th, and then get right into the season with road games at Queen’s and York in the OUS week 1 schedule.

The Lancers have approximately 30 athletes expected at the training camp, and like many other OUS programs will have a nice balance of returning and new players to the program. On the mound, Megan Lozinski, Aubrey Johnson and Morgan Maxey will be returning to the Lancers and
infielder Cylee Hickey is a returning OUS All Star.
New recruits include:
- Kaitlyn Bovenkamp (Essex District High School, Essex, Team: Lasalle Athletics)
- Tia Nelson (Frank J. Hayden High School, Burlington, Team: Oakville Angels 05, Dr.)
- Jacqueline Pento (St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic High School, LaSalle, Team: LaSalle Athletics)
- Amy Pletsas (King City Secondary School, King City, Team : Aurora Diggers)
The Lancers have moved their home diamond to Mic Mac Park. The first half of the season will be spent on the road. Windsor’s first home game is on September 30th . The Lancers would love to see some support for their team this season at home and on the road!
