Quick look at Sunday’s action in the OUS… (Weather could be an issue at some parks Sunday)
McMaster (1-5) vs Laurier (5-1)
The Hawks will entertain McMaster Sunday aiming to stay near the top of the Western Division leaderboard. Laurier won bogth games Friday vs Windsor, while McMaster wasn’t able to spoil the home opener at Guelph Saturday losing both ends of the twin-bill. McMaster needs wins to avoid a big early season hole in the West.
Western (3-3) vs Windsor (3-3)
Both teams were swept in there opening series this weekend, Windsor losing to Laurier, Western losing two close ones to Brock. For Western they need to clean up the defense and they will likely right the ship, Windsor will aim to get back to solid pitching and good defense as well as they play their home series Sunday at St Clair Stadium.
Guelph (4-2) v Brock (6-0)
Badger fans are thrilled by the 6-0 start, shaping up for a real improvement over last season. Sunday is their 1st chance to shine in front of the supporters in St Catherine’s. Brock swept Western in Byron Saturday, while Guelph swept as well winning both games vs McMaster.
Toronto (3-3) v TMU (1-5)
Bold got their 1st win Saturday, and will look for even better things in this series against the Varsity Blues. Toronto returns to the area following a split of their series in Napanee against Queen’s. TMU will look to score early and often in the hopes of an upset Sunday.
York (2-4) v Ottawa (4-2)
Ottawa looks to build on a Saturday home series sweep of Waterloo, when they welcome the Lions to Fitzroy Park Sunday. York split their two games Saturday against TMU and will look to get back to some winning ways at the expense of the Gee-Gees. Ottawa sits in 1st place after six games in the East leading Queen’s and Toronto by 2 points.
Waterloo (1-5) v Queen’s (3-3)
Queen’s continues its home weekend Sunday welcoming Waterloo. Waterloo started the road trip Saturday losing in extra innings their 2nd walk-off loss in the first five games. Waterloo dropped the 2nd game of the Saturday series in Ottawa as well. They now will take aim against the top notch pitching and defense from Queen’s. Queen’s split Saturday winning and losing 1 game each against Toronto.
