Sunday and we have 2 series in the East and 2 series in the West to close out week 3. Let’s have a look at today’s match-ups.

Toronto (8-0) vs Ottawa (6-4)

Ottawa is rolling after a 1-3 opening weekend, they’ve now gone 5-1 over their first 6 games at home, and that includes two wins Saturday over York. Ottawa again won in extra innings in the second game Saturday, with some lofty stat lines for the team offensively Saturday. They will need to keep scoring in bunches today as the welcome the Varisty Blues to town. Toronto remained undefeated Saturday winning two games in Napanee, to extend their comfortable lead a top of the Eastern Division.

York (2-6) vs Queen’s (6-4)

Queen’s came up short Saturday, and will look to get back into the win column against York. The Lions are in need of some wins as well to get back into a playoff spot as week 3 closes out. The series today in Napanee starts at 11AM. York scored 20 runs in two games Saturday, but didn’t get a win… as the defense made a few miscues, and the Gee Gee’s bats were on fire. Queen’s themselves let in 26 Saturday, and they will be looking for some better results today.

Guelph (3-7) vs Laurier (7-3)

Guelph heads to Waterloo today to play Laurier, the Gryphons have just finished four straight games against Western, in which they competed hard in each. They will welcome any new opponent, and they get Laurier, who holds second place now in the West following their two game sweep down in Windsor Saturday. This is a rematch of a series last week in which Laurier won both by scores of 5-0 and 6-5. The Hawks won two, one run games Saturday proving they can play under pressure. They can really secure the 2nd place position if they fare well Sunday at home.

McMaster (2-8) vs Western (10-0)

Western hosts McMaster in London Sunday, as both teams close out week 3. McMaster lost their two games Sunday, both close matches to the Badgers from Brock. Now they have the task of trying to knock off the Mustangs from the ranks of the undefeated. Western sits 10-0, three games ahead of Laurier. Western has been clicking in all aspects this season, and will be a very tough task for the visitors today from Hamilton.
