Brantford, ON— The Brantford area was buzzing with softball action from June 26 to 28th as the 3rd annual School’s Out Tournament welcomed over 100 minor softball teams from Ontario & Quebec for one of the area’s largest softball events of the summer.
Games were played across 14 different diamonds throughout the Brantford area, with hundreds of athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and family members coming together for three days of competition, sportsmanship, and community spirit. The tournament showcased teams across multiple age divisions, providing young athletes with an opportunity to compete at a high level while celebrating the conclusion of the school year.
Beyond the excitement on the field, the tournament also served a greater purpose by supporting the softball programs at Laurier and Waterloo. Money from the event will be used to help fund the expenses of these two teams OUS season. The success of the tournament was made possible through the dedication of countless volunteers, tournament organizers, umpires, and community partners who worked together to coordinate games across 14 venues while ensuring a positive experience for every participant.
“The School’s Out Tournament continues to grow because of the incredible support from our softball community,” said tournament organizers. “Seeing 100 teams competing while helping support two OUS programs makes all of the hard work worthwhile.”
The event also delivered a significant economic boost to the Brantford area, with visiting teams filling local hotels, restaurants, and businesses throughout the weekend. As the final games concluded on Sunday, teams left with medals, memories, and valuable experience, reinforcing the School’s Out Tournament’s reputation as one of Ontario’s premier minor softball events. Organizers are already looking ahead to next year’s tournament, with plans to build on another successful weekend of competition and community involvement.
