The second weekend in the OUS season was intense! Division play always brings out increased energy at the diamond, and this past weekend didn’t disappoint. In the Eastern Conference, the University of Toronto went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend to get them to the top spot based on winning % in the conference. Ottawa completed another six game weekend to lead the division with 7 wins. Queen’s only played Saturday but did get their record to .500 and now sit 3rd along with TMU. York and CU also earned their first wins of the season, and will look to build some momentum into week 3.

Western remaining a perfect 10-0 on the season following a sweep weekend over Laurier, Guelph and Waterloo. Those three teams did stay close to the Mustangs in several games, but Western would eventually power their way to the win. Windsor had a great weekend as well including three walk off wins over the weekend to sit alone in 2nd spot at 8-2. Brock went 3-1 over the weekend to gain control of 3rd place. Laurier finished their home stand 3-3, and they have the final playoff position as of the end of week 2. Waterloo, Guelph and McMaster have some work to do in the next three weeks to get back into a playoff position.

ABOUT THE OUS
The OUS is compromised of 13 member clubs, split into Eastern and Western Conferences. Each club plays a 20-game season over the first five weeks of the fall university term. Following the regular season the top 4 teams from each conference qualify for our OUS Championship Weekend. This year the post-season tournament is being held at Lions Park in Paris (U of Waterloo is host club).
Our 2022 league championships were held in Waterloo and it was won by Queen’s University.
