In 2022 the University of Guelph program brought in a new coaching staff, and as the season progressed the OUS could see that there were improvements each week with the on field performance, now as the same coaching team heads into their second year together, there are even higher goals for the program. Guelph is led by Derrick Nowe, Phil Panchaud, Steve Blenkhorn, Julie Straus, and Jade Nowe who all have experience working together for several years before coming together once again at Guelph.
Guelph will be taking part in a mini-preseason event this weekend at Mohawk College, and is using the games as a chance to evaluate some players that have already registered to be part of the team.

There is still time to reach out to the program leaders if you are interested in being part of the club this fall. Tryouts are set for September 1st and 2nd. Club Media Coordinator, Julie Styles mentions “Tryouts will be held on campus at the University Main Diamond from 5-7:30pm on both Friday and Saturday. We ask that athletes arrive 45 minutes early for registration.”
Sunday, September 3rd at 2:00pm will be the first official team practice for the 2023 season! It will be a busy week weekend as that Monday the Gryphons will host Waterloo in an exhibition game at 2pm. If you are needing directions to the diamond you can find them here:
